Laboratory Testing
Our laboratory is certified by both CMEC and FDOT.
Madrid CPWG has full-service Soils and Materials Laboratories capable of testing all types of soils, aggregates, and cementitious materials. Our laboratories are certified under the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) R 18, accredited by the Construction Materials Engineering Council (CMEC) and approved by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
Our laboratory staff are trained and experienced and often audited by the FDOT due to our close proximity to the FDOT D1 Materials Office. Our laboratory is one of few FDOT Verification Testing (VT) labs selected to perform Verification Testing on projects where there might be a discrepancy between Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) test results.
We perform a full suite of strength, compressibility, permeability, and index tests for a wide variety of materials including soil, aggregate, rock, concrete, and asphalt. Field testing capabilities include field density testing by nuclear, drive sleeve, and sand cone method, in-place moisture content, concrete slump, air content, and temperature.
Our field and laboratory testing personnel submit all of their reports to a central location for QA/QC. Our QMS (Quality Management System) is updated and vetted annually as part of our annual re-certification of the laboratories.
