Roadway Design

Designing Complete Streets for all to enjoy.

The Madrid CPWG team of roadway engineers have provided design services for everything from complex highways to simple rural roads. Our engineers know that great roadway design requires balancing many components. They consider things that matter: traffic flow, parking demands, maintenance of traffic, utility relocations, drainage needs, and streetscape enhancement.

Madrid CPWG incorporates innovative Complete Streets initiatives into our pavement designs to create streets that provide safe access for all users. People of all ages and abilities are able to safely move along and across streets in a community, regardless of how they are traveling. Complete Streets make it easy to cross the street, walk to shops, and bicycle to work and add to the overall ease of navigating through your community.

We know that our clients need to stay on schedule and on budget. Our ability to accurately estimate costs, design buildable plans, create detailed qualitative and quantitative specifications, understanding the latest regulations, and ability to obtain regulatory permits helps to avoid needless construction delays and cost overruns. We are a prequalified Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).

Traffic

Moving people safely and efficiently.

Our team includes traffic design professionals experienced in designing signalization, signing and pavement markings, and lighting (including photometric analysis) and electrical engineering professionals to prepare power service and load center designs. We design Traffic Design components (Signalization, Lighting, Signing, and Pavement Marking) with an emphasis on user safety (motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians) including visibility and sight distance, horizontal and vertical clearances, and optimum driveway access. All traffic components are designed in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards. Our team can coordinate with critical utilities, drainage, and right-of-way entities to ensure the constructability of all Traffic Design features.

Our team details the required maintenance of traffic (MOT) operations during each phase of construction. These plans include the required traffic control devices, property access, variable message signs, and temporary drainage plans. We are skilled in performing lane closure analysis to determine the appropriate time for lane closure.  We understand that local businesses and residents can be impacted by roadway construction. We go the extra mile to maintain existing driveway access for residential and commercial developments to the maximum extent possible. We also prepare pedestrian traffic control plans to maintain existing pedestrian facilities and ADA compliance through all phases of construction.

Structural Engineering

Structural assessments where they are needed.

We provide a wide range of structural engineering services with a particular emphasis on damage assessments involving a physical inspection of municipal, industrial, commercial and residential structures followed by detailed evaluation and reporting.

We are a leader in providing forensic services. We have a long history of providing professional services to insurance companies stemming from sinkhole insurance claims. Our experienced professionals not only perform the evaluations but are sought after for our expert witness services as third-party experts during the adjusting or litigation phases. Structural damage from windstorms can take many forms including roof loss, cladding damage, impact from windblown debris, and flood among others. Other causes of structural damage include insect attacks, vehicle impact, fire, and even human error. Madrid CPWG has the expertise and capability to help you evaluate property damage from all of these potential adverse conditions and assist with developing appropriate repair plans.

Madrid CPWG also provides an array of other Structural Engineering services including design for new structures, retrofit design, and specialty foundations, among others. Madrid CPWG also provides Special Inspection Services for Threshold Buildings.

Pavement Management

Accurate data collection for cost-efficient maintenance.

Madrid CPWG, in an effort to remain at the forefront of pavement management, has acquired an interest in Pavement Management Group (PMG). At Madrid CPWG and PMG, we know that delivering excellent pavement management is an active process. We work with governments to deliver consistent and quality pavement management services throughout the entire pavement inspection and management process.

Our long history of successful performance with government clients is a direct result of the emphasis we place on effective communication. We have been providing our clients with comprehensive pavement management services for many years, and we remain committed to bringing the best technology, such as PAVER 7 and Street Saver systems, to the process. PMG is committed to industry standards such as the ASTM 6411 inspection process. Our Staff has performed tens of thousands of inspections across the United States.

Resilient Roads

We deliver excellent maintenance and rehabilitation plans using our RESILIENT ROADS technology. RESILIENT ROADS is a design methodology of utilizing “best of class” methods to improve the longevity of roads. It also incorporates our technology, CONSOLID, a state-of-the-art, road base stabilization nanotechnology that makes roads stronger, far more resilient, and hydrophobic, i.e., nearly impervious to water penetration. This technology increases infrastructure ‘hardening’ and reduces maintenance costs.
