Alternative Delivery

Providing the greatest value and benefit to our clients.

Madrid CPWG is increasingly using alternative delivery to provide the greatest value and benefit to our clients. In this approach, we assemble a unified team of designers and contractors that work together throughout the project under a single contract. Our team works directly with our clients to clearly define their requirements, desires, and vision of the projects. Taking the time to clearly identify our client’s vision of the project early in the process allows us to provide alternatives that save money and time while delivering the project they expect. The combined team approach allows us to continuously evaluate the constructibility of each element of the project from multiple viewpoints, dramatically reducing the number of change orders, cost overruns and delays. Because we are providing both design and construction services, we can provide a high level of cooperation and interaction throughout the life of the project.

The most common types of alternative delivery are:

  • Design-Build (DB)
  • Public-Private Partnership (PPP or P3)
  • Construction Manager at Risk (often, CM@Risk or CMAR)
  • Unsolicited Bid, which typically transitions into a DB or PPP delivery

Design-Build

Streamlining project time and budget.

Madrid CPWG’s Design-Build team helps you mitigate risk, reduce cost, and shorten delivery time using the Design-Build process. Our multi-discipline team collaborates with you to deliver the project you require without the headache of dealing with multiple contracts. We provide a single point of contact who is responsible for the design and construction of the project.  This eliminates your responsibility for coordinating activities between the designer and the builder.

Our turnkey Design-Build process provides a customized process that saves time and money. We use a single contract to create a customized multi-discipline design/build team created to meet the specific needs and goals of your project. Our teams are comprised of experts in designing and building your type of project.  They are supported by professionals in cost estimating, scheduling, procurement, administration, inspection, and closeout. They are led by a Madrid CPWG Principal or Associate Principal who actively manages your project.

Construction

What we do that makes us unique

Madrid CPWG has worked for communities across the United States to address and overcome the challenges associated with municipal facilities design. Our team will be there from initial assessment through design, construction, and post-construction inspection to ensure our clients receive a facility that meets or exceeds their expectations.

Our municipal facilities team works hand in hand with your staff, our partner architect, and our in-house general contractors to produce innovative and buildable designs. Our team works together to concentrate on functionality, sustainability, safety, and code compliance during every phase of the project. The result is detailed plans, specifications, and accurate estimates that are biddable and buildable.

Transportation Service Management

Implementing urban and rural mobility service solutions.

Madrid CPWG provides mobility management planning, design, and implementation strategies as well as operational management services.

Our mobility management experts are experienced in overall operational, maintenance, and administration of alternative delivery services to include demand response/paratransit services, fixed and flex route bus service, commuter assistance programs, park-n-ride facilities, and multi-modal customer travel planning. We can provide direct turn-key operational management or serve our clients as a third-party oversight management extension of staff with our deep understanding of federal and state compliance requirements for funding, procurement, and delivery of services.

Madrid CPWG brings together our full multi-discipline team of transportation planners, civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, landscape architects, designers, surveyors, and mobility managers to bring community values and vision to life.

Walton County Board of County Commissioners was awarded an FDOT Transit Service Development grant to provide transit service along the North/ South Hwy 331 corridor.  This service was implemented with the challenge of COVID-19 Pandemic conditions and was designed to provide an alternative mode of transportation to relieve congestion along the Hwy 331 corridor and parking issues in South Walton. CPWG succeeded in developing, implementing, coordinating, and maintaining the GoWal public transportation system which holds great promise for Walton County’s future economic development, community values, and mobility needs.
