Madrid CPWG was engaged by Lake County to provide design and permitting services for enhancements to the Butler Street Boat Ramp and parking area. The goal of the project was to improve the existing parking lot through a combination of resurfacing the old lot and extending the lot by creating new parking to the west.
Official’s efforts to construct a boat ramp in Asatula, Florida. Madrid CPWG Engineers prepared construction documents associated with the floating dock, parking area, and restroom facility. 60%, 90%, 100%, and final construction documents were submitted to the County for review and comment. Madrid CPWG attended two design review meetings with County staff. The final plan was provided to County staff for submittal of required County building permits or health department permits. Madrid CPWG submitted the Environmental Resource Permit (ERP) documents to the St. Johns River Water Management District for permit/exemption request.
The MADRID CPWG design for the boat ramp area included:
- Upgraded the floating dock
- Resurfaced boat ramp
- Restriped the boat ramp area (
- Replaced fence along the approach
- All new signs
- Provided location for a prefabricated waterless restroom.
The MADRID CPWG design for the parking area included:
- Asphalt overlay on existing pavement
- Added paved trailer parking (40-ft in length)
- Restriped the entire parking area
- Painted and reused wheel stops in good condition
- Replaced broken wheel stops
- All new signs
